SPAIN: VALENCIA

Another weekend means another weekend day trip! I spent my Friday visiting Valencia with my friend Karly! We had an early morning train ride, so we were a bit tired. I finally remembered to pack a deck of cards in my day bag, so we played 6-Handed Golf and Rummy. Obviously, I dominated. Besides that, we also read our books. I'm currently reading "Fourth Wing," which was highly recommended. Once we got to the Valencia train station, it was about a 20-minute walk to a breakfast place I found, Milk and Butter. It was funny because we were talking about how a 20-minute walk in Europe is nothing, but walking twenty minutes back in the US seems impossible.   The walk was beautiful, and palm trees were everywhere. It was a little colder than what we were expecting, but it was still super sunny. Valencia is known for two things: oranges and paella. So, we started off our morning with a mimosa made with fresh orange juice and eggs benedict, both of which were so delicious! We had

SPAIN: SEVILLA

The end of the semester is right around the corner, and classes are building up. So, I've decided to spend the rest of my semester in Spain, but that means I can explore a new city! I took a day trip to Sevilla, Spain, with my friend Emma! But before I get into that, I thought I would quickly talk about my week at the hospital doing my first ever clinical rotation!  I obviously could not take any photos while I was in the hospital, but above is a photo from my last morning going to clinical! We got there around 7:00 a.m., so it was the start of sunrise. Doing my clinicals in Spain was one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do, but I wouldn't change a thing. Balancing learning core nursing skills, traveling, and studying for my other classes was no easy task. But, I learned so much and am so grateful for the things that I got to do and see. I removed a urinary catheter, administered medications to patients, cleaned wounds, and saw a pic line insertion. I was so nervou

PORTUGAL: LISBON

I went to Lisbon! Katie, Karly, and Sarah Jane flew out on Thursday night, and I met up with them on Friday morning. I originally didn't book this trip with them because I didn't know when my clinicals were going to be, but once I found out when they were, I was able to book the trip! (My clinicals are this week! Wish me luck!) I flew out early Friday morning and watched the beautiful sunrise from my window seat! It was a quick flight, and I had no one sitting in the middle seat! I went with my family friend Kyle, and we landed at 6:50 a.m. before taking an Uber to the hostel to meet up with the rest of the group.  We stayed at the Lisbon Destination Hostel, and it was amazing! The lobby had plants everywhere, and we were in a really good location around the city. Once we met up with the group, we stopped at a grocery store to get some snacks before our excursion later in the morning.  We booked a snorkeling, kayaking, and cliff jumping tour at a nearby beach, and it was so muc
